This pasta is admittedly delicious! I did double the olive oil, pesto and onions. For a kicking, I sauteed some garlic in the olive oil before adding the onions and pesto. Also, I crumbled some salary on top of the dish for a little bit of a crunch. Perfection.
01/29/2009
This was skilful just a fleck dry. I sauted the onions to sweeten them up and and then added some chopped sun dried tomatoes in olive oil. I added the pesto to that mixture for just long enough to get information technology heated through when the pasta was finished. We added some extra pesto as information technology was dry. A actress sprinkle of parmesan and we never missed meat. I never would have thought of adding sauted onions to pesto pasta but it was very good. This will be made again.
11/29/2009
I made this according to instructions, and while a good bones pesto pasta recipe, there was something missing. Afterward the onion/pesto mixture cooked, I added 1/ii cup of chicken broth and a xiv.5 ounce tin of petite diced tomatoes, heating another five minutes. I then added the pasta to the pan and mixed well, serving right out of the frying pan. This added the 'it' cistron I was looking for.

This is another one of my favorite, virtually often used recipes. Based on other reviews I make the post-obit modifications: Saute chopped onion (between i/two and whole onion) and three cloves of minced garlic in olive oil kickoff. Add sun dried tomatoes, sometimes chopped black olives, and so the pesto, which i up to 3 or 4 TB. I also add a couple healthy pinches of red pepper flakes (most important!) and add the parmesan only before serving. Thank you for a wonderful recipe!
06/03/2003

One of those elementary easy meals. Thanks not sure why I never just recollect of making this its and so simple.
07/18/2011
Uncomplicated, piece of cake, yummy! Used non quite equally much onion, gluten costless dark-brown rice pasta and Buittoni pesto. Absolutely fabulous.
01/24/2010
This is tasty. As others mentioned, information technology's too dry out. I added mushrooms, cream cheese, and a piddling apparently yogurt and 1/2&1/2. It was all the same rather dry out, but the pesto season is excellent. A neat addition to my lunchbox for piece of work!
08/27/2010
This was really great. I went with a whole onion, 3-4 T. of pesto, and about four T. of butter (since I was out of olive oil). The onion actually made the dish. It was only perfect.
01/17/2011
This was very yummy! It was quick and easy too, which is always a plus! I thought it was great even without the parmesan cheese. Tin can't actually mess this one upwardly.

06/24/2010
This was really quite good, and simple for one of those nights you really do non take a inkling equally to what to make for dinner! I did use iv TBLS of pesto to cover the noodles a bit better. The idea from another cook to add feta sounds like a proficient program, too.
09/26/2011
My family loved it. I doubled the pesto and parmesan, omitted the onion, and added garlic as some others had suggested.
08/15/2010
This was pretty proficient. I added much more than pesto so the recipe called for. I think that is was skillful. I added sun dried tomatoes (I put them into the frying pan besides) and those made a BIG difference. There is no need for an unabridged box of pasta. Plus, I used some butter. (Without it is was Actually dry.) All in all, really good.
09/08/2011
Perfect side dish to the pork/pineapple recipe I found on here!
04/07/2010

08/12/2001
This was a skillful basic pesto recipe. Had information technology with a glass of white wine. My husband loved it.
xi/21/2008

03/xv/2005
I didn't enjoy this dish equally much as I thought I would. I made merely four servings just doubled up on parmesean and pesto along with some garlic for more taste however I all the same found it to be somewhat bland. It tasted a little ameliorate the next day when I warmed it up but I won't be making this once more.
04/06/2012
I made this yesterday and I institute that it was not all that flavorful. Like other commentators have said, we added more pesto, and nosotros also added a few garlic cloves. However, the finished result, while appetizing in appearance, was a flake bland. When we sprinkled some garlic salt on meridian, however, it definitely improved it. I'll probably make this once again, but next time with more than garlic, more basil, and garlic salt instead of regular salt.
11/29/2010
Great thought. So like shooting fish in a barrel and tasty.
02/24/2012
Giving this four stars, considering I added quite a bit to it based on suggestions. Nosotros LOVED the way it turned out - I give the final production 5 stars. I cut upward some chicken and marinated it in italian dressing, so cooked information technology with the onions. Then added the garlic. While the pasta was cooking (I used wheat linguine), I added half of an eight oz. jar of pesto, also as chopped black olives and sliced sundried tomatoes. Tossed with the linguine and parmesan and information technology was succulent.
11/26/2010
Good bones pesto pasta recipe but similar many said, a bit bland. After following the initial recipe, I added more than pesto a bit of cream. Suggest veggies or meat of your option.
11/13/2005
I think I used too much pasta because mine came out dry out & non very green. I love the cheese, didn't similar the onions but my mate did. I'll definitely try again without the onion & less pasta or more pesto.
03/08/2008
information technology was expert probably a piddling as well bland for my liking. The second time i made it i added more pesto and cheese, threw in some garlic, craven and aspargus. gave it a real kick!!

05/16/2009
An excellent base recipe that you can tweak to suit gustatory modality. I used one-half a dip tub of pesto dip and a half tub of spinach ricotta dip that had been sitting in the fridge for a while, which I wanted to use upward. Added a couple of cloves of garlic to saute with the onion. Saved some of the hot water that was used to boil the pasta and added it to the sauce to thicken it up. Cooked upwardly some diced bacon and breadcrumbs to crispness and used as topping on the pasta. Delish with a bottle of white wine!
04/12/2012
This was horribly delicious. I cried in joy for so long after eating my awesome pasta. I besides put minced onions in my sauce. It tasted nearly a trillion times better!
09/02/2009
First, the success of this recipe depends highly on what kind of pesto you're using. Second, you can vary this ane a lot co-ordinate to your tastes. I added a fiddling fresh jalepeno to give it a slight tinge. I too added a picayune fresh minced garlic. Works well if y'all strain, so toss it lightly in the frying pan with the pesto mixture.
04/30/2012
Simply Delicious!!! I added Grilled Shrimp to brand this a consummate meal, and served information technology with a salad and crusty Italian Bread!!!
06/19/2012
I recollect we could have this viii or nine days a week! I added some green & red bell peppers with the onion. For those who constitute this dry, relieve a half a cup or and so of your pasta water earlier y'all drain the pasta. And then add it back in a petty at a time until it's moist enough. Something about the starchy water does the play tricks.
03/01/2006
This recipe came out great BUT I changed it upwards a bit. I added red, xanthous and orangish bong peppers, chopped, and asparagus to the onion and pesto mixture. I used angel hair pasta. It came out really skillful, a nice, lite, meal, but I recall without the actress veggies it would accept been kind of deadening. I will definitely make this again, with whatever veggies are in season.
02/24/2008
Information technology was expert, only I thought information technology did not need more olive oil since there is plenty of that in the Pesto. I call up I volition try creaminstead of extra olive oil, like someone else suggested.

02/07/2004
I followed the recipe to a "T" & it was And so bland! Neither my married man or I similar it. Since it was so bland, I added a little bit of garlic powder & mixed it up in our pasta, and that didn't seem to thing much either.
05/25/2018
Would love to make information technology over again, especially with some sautéed shrimp

But also added in sun dried tomatoes with a little of the olive oil the come in. I used knorrs bones pesto (not the flossy) as my base. A little salt/pepper, italian seasoning and voila!

08/xviii/2015

And I reserved a little of the pasta water which I used to counter act the dryness of the dish. I finished with a splash of fresh lemon juice and topped information technology with a generous scattering of grated Parmesan. Delish!!
05/24/2012
Doubled the pesto as suggested and added ready well-baked salary and a lilliputian bit of cerise pepper flakes. Crawly!

08/05/2020
About as good equally you might expect from a recipe calling for a pound of pasta, half a cup of onions (???), and only 2½ tbsp of pesto. Practice NOT Endeavour with the recommended measurements. AT LEAST double the pesto, but to be honest I don't know how this could exist salvaged.
01/02/2016
Very simple and prissy as a side dish. Both of my kids liked it quite a bit.
05/22/2020

Great recipe! Quick to make and low in Weight Watchers points too! I used Blood-red Pesto (with sundried tomatoes). Makes a great tiffin, hot or common cold!
08/01/2019
This is a huge winner. And versatile besides. I can imagine adding grilled chicken or shrimp for an even heartier meal. I used the Pesto recipe available on the allrecipes website and information technology was an fantabulous choice. Then good! I suppose it'due south a matter of personal preference, simply I used well over a loving cup of pesto rather than the 2 one/2 tablespoons chosen for in the recipe. I like a heartier taste and intuitively, I knew that such a pocket-size amount of pesto would not be enough. I was concerned near deviating so much on the amount of pesto, but I have admittedly no regrets. It came out spectacularly. I dropped a pinch or two of cherry-red pepper flakes into the recipe and it was perfect. Rather than making it spicy hot, it was just plenty to add a very slight curious bite.
08/13/2018
Just not and so dandy, lacked flavor, but was edible.
06/ten/2016
My whole family unit loves this recipe! I followed the communication of a few reviewers and made the post-obit adjustments: 1) I doubled the pesto sauce, 2) I added 3 cloves of minced garlic to the onions. Also, I only cooked 12 oz. of spiral pasta. It was the perfect amount and my family of four (ii little ones) gobbled the whole thing!
